I turned 40 this year… and I have to start all over.

Not because I failed but because I finally saw the trap I’ve built.

But before I tell you how I’ve gone from $100k/month… to $0… and how I’m going to publicly build back up to $100k/month — can I ask you a question?

Do you think people are born entrepreneurs?

I’d like to think so.

At least I felt like it.

I’ve always been a rebel.

I can’t stand being told what to do… what to think… how to act… because “it’s always been done that way.”

Why?

Go to school. Get a job. Save. Buy. Hold. Diversify. And hopefully the baby-eating, child-raping political scum doesn’t steal every dime you’ve worked so hard for your entire life.

“It’s a tradition thing.”

Well, scientifically speaking, traditions are an idiot thing.

Doing something the same way it’s always been done… simply because that’s always how they’ve been done… has created the vast majority of problems in our society today.

And I’ll be the first to admit, I was too stupid to realize I’ve been running my business the same way I’ve always done it… and because of it, I’ve run into the same problems over and over again, and a couple weeks ago I finally hit my breaking point.

Here I am again – on paper – I’m making more money than I’ve ever made… but I’m still struggling to figure out how the hell I’m going to pay payroll this month.

After all, people are relying on me. Their families are relying on me. I can’t let them down.

If you’ve ever owned a business, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

But it’s time to be honest with you, and honest with myself: the hardest pill to swallow? I don’t own a business. I have a high-paying job.

See, a business is something you can step away from, go on vacation, do things, see things, go places, have the FREEDOM we’ve all valued so much – and if you’ve built it right? You come back and the business grew without you.

That’s the dream at least.

But for me, the past 3 years have been more like a nightmare.

My #1 value in life was always freedom. To be able to do what I want, when I want, with whomever I want, as much as I want.

Hell, I traveled to 65 countries… I lived in 7 of those… I’ve always been known as “Airport Steve,” sharing my silly stories from the road everyone seemed to enjoy so much.

And when my buddy recently asked me to go to Costa Rica with him and a few friends for his birthday, it broke my heart to say, “I can’t.”

Clients are calling. I’m working all hours of the day in every time zone. My brother moved out here to work with me; I can’t leave all the work to him – that’s not fair.

Not to mention, I haven’t even seen my dad’s new place … somewhere in Appalachia? Not that I’ve ever been in the mood for dueling banjos and hellfire-and-brimstone Southern Baptist sermons… but I digress…

I always thought it was stupid to re-evaluate your life when your age hits the next 0… but I can’t lie, it’s been screwing with my head.

40.

I still feel like I’m 21.

Okay… maybe 22… with knee injuries…

Did I ever tell you I was super depressed as a kid?

What teenager isn't, though, am I right?

But I haven’t felt “depression” since Tony Robbins taught me how to control and manage my emotions. How to create new empowering meanings and reframe what things meant to me…

And that’s served me insanely well the past few decades.

But again – something about turning 40 – maybe you’ve felt it? I’m new to this.

I’ve been so lucky. I’ve lived such an amazing life… but one of the most toxic ideas has consumed my thoughts the past couple of years:

“Maybe my best days are behind me instead of ahead of me.”

And when you look at your friends, your family – when you look them in the eyes – you can tell they’re thinking that, can’t you?

Maybe you can’t quite put your finger on it… But it’s there… that thousand-yard stare. They definitely aren’t living in the present. They might physically be with you, but they aren’t THERE.

They are far off… in the future, or in the past, but they’re not there with you.

I’m already thinking of all of the apologies I need to make for “not being there” when I should have been.

Hopefully they understand.

But I decided a long time ago the purpose of my life is to BE an example of — and SHARE — endless love, joy, happiness, humor, and possibility.

And if I’m taking a hard look at my life at this moment… chained to my desk while the cats are screaming at me for snacks… I’m definitely not living up to that life’s purpose.

Not in the slightest.

So it’s time for a change.

I’m going to start writing again.

I’m going to start living again.

And I’m going to reclaim the freedom I let go.

I’ve always called it The Path. That road to the top of the mountain of success, however you define that.

And the path is often lonely.

It’s confusing. It’s foggy.

You never quite know what lies ahead.

But I’ve found my way back to it.

And if you’d like to join me, I’d love to share the road with you.

I’m going to share my journey here.

I’m going to build my business back up – the right way this time – to create physical, financial, mental, and emotional freedom.

I’m going to live my purpose of being and sharing love, joy, humor, happiness, and most importantly, possibilities.

I want to remind you – and myself – that it’s possible.

Because if you think it’s impossible, it isn’t.

If you think you know everything, you don’t.

And if you think you’re alone, you’re not.

So here's what I'm going to do about it:

The best way I know to show you it's possible… is to do it right in front of you.

So starting now, I'm building the whole thing back in the open.

From $0. No highlight reel. No "here's how I made it" from a guy who's already comfortable — the real climb, in real time.

Here's what that looks like:

Every day, I'll drop a YouTube update. The wins, the losses, the numbers, the dumb mistakes, the small victories. The actual rebuild, not the polished version.

I'll answer your questions. Whatever's got you stuck — ask me.

I've spent my whole career solving this stuff for everyone else. Now I'm doing it out loud, for us.

I'll write to you here every week (maybe more). The deeper story, the lessons, the things that don't fit in a video.

And I'll be all over social, sharing what's working and what isn't — in real time — because the fastest way for both of us to win is to quit pretending we've got it all figured out.

Front-row seat to the whole thing.

Steal what works. Skip what doesn't.

And the business I'm rebuilding? It's called Scale & Success.

AI-powered marketing software and done-for-you installs that handle the part every business dreads… capturing leads and turning them into customers, automatically.

It's the exact machine I'm using to climb back to $100k/month.

I'm building it in the open, brick by brick.

Want to build your own alongside me?

Perfect. That's what this is for.

Want me to just install it for you? That door's open too.

This is The Path.

I've found my way back to it. Come walk it with me.

I'll see you tomorrow.

— Steve

P.S. Everything I’ll share is free.

The only thing I ask: if one of these updates ever helps you, send it to one person who needs to hear "it's possible" today. That's how we grow this.
